OMNIGON: Redesigning Real-time Digital Experience in Sports

Nearly eight years ago, Igor Ulis - with his extensive experience in developing scalable software solutions for government agencies - ventured into the vibrant industry of sports and entertainment. Ulis, and a handful of other team members, quickly grew Omnigon into what it is today with over 200 employees in 6 offices around the world. Omnigon, “a digital consulting firm delivering strategic, technical and creative guidance to leaders in the sports, media and entertainment industries” designs and delivers products that strengthen the digital experience of their customer’s brands. Transforming visions into practice, Omnigon has addressed the digital needs of industry giants like PGA TOUR, NASCAR, USGA, FOX Sports and PGA of America.

Having catered to very large organizations over the years, Omnigon is now a well-known entity in the United States. Omnigon links brands with their target audience across a variety of mediums including web browsers, mobile devices, and iPads. A peek into some of Omnigon’s long-term partnerships with PGA TOUR and NASCAR gives insights into their capabilities, solutions and innovations. Omnigon has helped PGA TOUR with several major launches including a fully redesigned website, simulcasts of its TV broadcasts, an on-site mobile app for tournament coverage, and several tournament microsites. Recently, Omnigon designed the PGA TOUR iPad app featuring the first ever real-time predictive statistics in the history of golf. With their multi-year partnership with NASCAR, Omnigon has also helped launch and manage NASCAR.com, and all of their mobile apps. This year, they launched the NASCAR 'Acceleration Nation’ youth platform, and designed and developed two fan engagement experiences to coincide with NASCAR’s all new elimination format for the NASCAR Chase.

As growing the business outside of the States was a priority, Omnigon opened an office in London in January 2014. With this new venture, Omnigon was chosen by World Rugby, England Rugby 2015 (ER 2015) and IMG to design and deliver the official 2015 Rugby World Cup mobile app, giving worldwide rugby fans the most compelling, interactive and informative mobile experiences to date.
The Rugby World Cup is one of the four largest global sporting events and will be held this fall in England. This full phased mobile app, launched just before the World Cup commenced, includes full team and fixture information, in-venue messaging, live match coverage, expert analysis, live match stats, and scores.

Earlier in 2015, the company launched the first of its proprietary products, BracketPro, a fully customizable, user-friendly bracket building software platform. Users participate by engaging with custom content and by voting on their favorites until a winner is ultimately selected. BracketPro drives incremental reach and traffic by aligning brands with custom photo, video and GIF content, and continuous fan engagement opportunities. BracketPro allows brands to build a bracket comprised of custom content, like best moments or best play-offs, on highly-engaging, consumer-facing platforms on which sponsors can integrate their logos. On the heels of BracketPro’s success, Omnigon’s innovation lab is on mission to develop more innovative products to add to its suite.
